Meet the Child Protection Service Team

The Director is responsible for the overall management and development of the service. This person will receive all allegations of abuse and ensure that they are dealt with appropriately.

 

 

A recruitment process for a new Director of the Child Protection Service is in place.

Sinéad McDonnell is the Child Protection Officer, and her role is to assist the Director in the area of case management.

Sinéad is currently Acting Director of the Child Protection Service.

Sinéad is the Designated Person for the receipt of any complaints or concerns regarding the protection of children.

Mr. Joseph McDonagh is the Support Coordinator who provides a support service for complainants and their families. He also facilitates contact with the Director to make a complaint, facilitate access to information, and represent complainant concerns to the diocese. 

Fr. Des Doyle is the priest delegate. Fr. Doyle assists the Director in the management of the response to priests accused of child abuse.

Fr. Paddy Boyle is the Child Protection Training and Development Coordinator responsible for the implementation of the parish and diocesan child protection structures. 
 Ms. Aileen Byrne and Ms. Geraldine Tierney are responsible for the administration of the service.
