The Child Protection Service is responsible to the Archbishop of Dublin and reports directly to him.

The service works in partnership with priests, parish staff and volunteers, victims and lay people. It liaises closely with the various statutory agencies including the Health Boards, An Garda Siochana and the Probation and Welfare Service.

The Child Protection Services also liaises with the Child Protection Office of the Irish Bishop's Conference in Maynooth.
